Ideal Beach Triathlon : Elkhart, IN
The Ideal Beach Triathlon is a multi-event race held at Ideal Beach Waterpark in Elkhart, Indiana on June 27, 2026. The event program includes a Sprint Individual, a Sprint Team Relay, a Kids Competitive race, and a Kids Non-Competitive race. Packet pickup occurs at Ideal Beach Waterpark on June 25 and on the event day.
Race formats and distances:
- Sprint Individual: 400-yard swim, 12-mile bike, 3.1-mile run
- Sprint Team Relay: 400-yard swim, 12-mile bike, 3.1-mile run
- Kids Competitive: 25-yard swim, 0.75-mile bike
- Kids Non-Competitive: 25-yard swim, 0.75-mile bike
Kids Competitive is a timed event for ages 6 to 14; athletes must swim 25 yards unassisted and ride a bike without training wheels. A mandatory pre-race meeting for kids is held near the kids' transition area; lifeguards and on-course monitors accompany youth athletes and volunteers are stationed along the route. Kids Non-Competitive is not timed, is for ages 6 to 12, allows parental accompaniment, and permits personal flotation devices; a pre-race meeting is also held.
