Event Details
The Ideal Beach Triathlon takes place on Saturday, June 27, 2026. The event is held at Ideal Beach Waterpark at 52256 Ideal Beach Rd, Elkhart, Indiana. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, June 25, from 4-6pm, and also on race day from 6-7:30am at the same location.
Event Types and Distances
The triathlon offers four separate events:
- Sprint Triathlon: This individual event involves a 400-yard swim, a 12-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run.
- Sprint Triathlon Team Relay: Teams of three participants complete the same distances as the individual sprint, with each member completing one discipline.
- Kids Competitive Triathlon: For participants aged 6-14. This event consists of a 25-yard swim, a 1-mile bike ride, and a 0.5-mile run.
- Kids Non-Competitive Triathlon: For participants aged 6-12. This event uses the same distances as the kids competitive event: a 25-yard swim, a 1-mile bike ride, and a 0.5-mile run.
Additional Information
The event presents a "Heart of a Warrior Award" intended to honor an individual's character and ability to overcome adversity. Nominations can be submitted for first-time participants or those who have overcome challenges to reach the start line. Registration prices increase after March 31, 2026.
