Event Overview
The Ideal Beach Triathlon takes place at Ideal Beach Waterpark in Elkhart, Indiana. This multi-sport event features a variety of race formats designed for different ages and experience levels, including individual sprint distances, team relays, and specific categories for children.
Race Formats
Participants can choose from several event types based on their age and preference:
- Sprint Triathlon: Includes a 400-yard swim, a 12-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run.
- Sprint Triathlon Team Relay: Teams of three complete the 400-yard swim, 12-mile bike, and 3.1-mile run.
- Kids Competitive Triathlon: Open to ages 6-14, featuring a 25-yard swim, 1-mile bike, and 0.5-mile run.
- Kids Non-Competitive Triathlon: Open to ages 6-12 with a 25-yard swim, 1-mile bike, and 0.5-mile run.
Logistics
Packet pickup is held at the Ideal Beach Waterpark on the Friday afternoon before the race and on the morning of the event. The venue is located at 52256 Ideal Beach Rd. The organizers also present the Heart of a Warrior Award, which recognizes participants who have overcome personal adversity or challenges to reach the starting line.
