Event details
The Ideal Beach Triathlon takes place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Ideal Beach in Elkhart, Indiana (52256 Ideal Beach Rd, Elkhart, IN 46514). The event program includes four race formats with the following distances:
- Sprint Individual: 400-yard swim, 12-mile bike, 3.1-mile run
- Sprint Team Relay: 400-yard swim, 12-mile bike, 3.1-mile run (segments divided among team members)
- Kids Competitive Triathlon: 25-yard swim, 1-mile bike, 0.5-mile run
- Kids Non-Competitive Triathlon: 25-yard swim, 1-mile bike, 0.5-mile run
Logistics and fees
Entry fees listed on the event page are: Sprint Individual $65, Sprint Team Relay $85, Kids events $25. Sprint event fees increase after December 31, 2025; kids event fees increase after March 31, 2026. Kids Competitive is open to ages 6 to 14; Kids Non-Competitive is open to ages 6 to 12. Packet pickup is scheduled at Ideal Beach Waterpark on the days immediately before and on race weekend. The event includes a "Heart of a Warrior" award for participants who are competing for the first time or who have overcome life challenges; nominations are accepted.
