I Double Ogg Dare You!
I Double Ogg Dare You is a timed hill-loop running event held at 7460 Ogg Rd in Shawnee, KS. Runners choose between time-limited formats and complete repeated laps on a measured out-and-back course that starts at the top parking lot of Ogg Road.
The course route runs down Ogg Road to the bridge over the river and returns up the climb. Each lap is 1.1 mile with approximately 200 feet of elevation gain. Only full laps count toward a runner's result, and official distances are based on wheel measured course markings. The field is limited to 175 entrants and the event is chip timed by Show-Me Running Company; chips are worn on the shoes and laps are recorded only when runners cross the timing mat.
Available support includes a start/finish aid station with water, Tailwind, assorted snacks, sandwiches, soda, vegan and gluten free options, first aid supplies and basic supplies such as vaseline and sunscreen. Pizza is provided for 6 hour runners and volunteers at midday. This is a cupless event; runners must provide their own bottle or cup. Personal mini aid stations are allowed in a designated area near the start/finish.
Event rules include no poles except for medical exceptions, no pacers, restricted crew access on Ogg Road, no alcohol, headphone volume limits, no course cutting, no partial laps, no dogs on course, and no littering. Finishers receive a patch or year patch and top three women, men, and non-binary finishers in each format receive awards. The event partners with the Trail Mix Fund to offer registration assistance for eligible participants and accepts donations to that fund.
