Event Structure
The HyFox event at FoxFit consists of eight exercise stations. Athletes complete a run of 1 km (for the full course) or 500 m (for the half course) before proceeding through the stations in a fixed order. The stations involve a variety of functional fitness exercises.
Stations and Weights
The stations are completed in this sequence:
- 100 Battle Rope slams
- 50 Metre sled push
- 50 Metre sled pull
- 80 Metre burpee broad jumps
- 100 Sandbag bent rows
- 100 Metre sandbag lunges
- 200 Metres farmer carry
- 100 Wall balls
The weights used vary by category. For example, in the Women's category, the sled push uses 100 kg, while in the Women Pro, Men's, and Mixed categories, it is 150 kg. Other equipment includes sandbags, kettlebells for the farmer's carry, and medicine balls for wall balls.
Categories and Format
The event has multiple divisions. There is a full course and a half course option. Categories include Individual (Open or Pro), Doubles (Men's open, Women's open, Women's Pro, or Mixed), and corresponding half-course versions. A separate HyFox Cubs category is open to children aged 10 to 14 years. In the Cubs category, athletes run 500 m between stations and use lighter weights.
The day runs from 9am until 3pm, with individual start times communicated in advance. Judges are present at each station to monitor form, count repetitions, and provide encouragement.
Venue and Registration
The event takes place at FoxFit, located at Peel Primary School in Livingston. There are 90 spots available in total. Entry fees are £15 for HyFox Full individual, £30 for Doubles, £15 for the Half, and £10 for HyFox Cubs. A finisher's t-shirt is available for an additional £15.
