Huntley Historical Society - Sew Hop'd Beer Mile
The event is a fundraising beer mile held at 1 Union Special Plaza in Huntley, Illinois. The course is a paved quarter-mile loop in a parking lot. The individual Beer Mile consists of four quarter-mile laps with participants consuming a 12 oz Sew Hop'd beer before each lap; event-provided beer must be used and nonalcoholic beer is available.
A four-person team relay is also offered; each team member drinks one 12 oz Sew Hop'd beer and runs one quarter-mile lap before tagging the next member. Heats are limited to no more than 16 participants and start at 30-minute intervals.
Registration opens March 30, 2026 and closes July 20, 2026. Published fees are $65 for the individual Beer Mile and $45 for the relay; fees increase after July 20 to $75 and $55 respectively. A single-transaction registration for both the individual and relay saves $10 and includes one swag bag and one shirt. Late registrants may not be guaranteed a specific shirt size.
Registration includes a T-shirt, custom bib, beer glass, finishers medal, chip timing, and photos. The event benefits the Huntley Historical Society and is held rain or shine; as a fundraiser, refunds are not issued. Raffles and awards are planned for top finishers, age groups, relay teams, and last-place finishers. Food trucks and evening live music will be present on site.
