Event overview
The Huntley Historical Society - Sew Hop'd Beer Mile is scheduled for July 25, 2026 at Sew Hop'd Brewery and Taproom, 1 Union Special Plaza, Huntley, IL. The event benefits The Huntley Historical Society. Two event types are offered: an individual Beer Mile and a Beer Mile 4-person team relay. Participants must be 21 years of age or older on the event date. Registration opens March 30, 2026. Published entry fees are $65 for the individual Beer Mile and $45 per relay team member; higher fees apply after July 20. Registration includes a t-shirt, custom bib, beer glass, finishers medal, chip timing, and pictures. Packet pickup is scheduled for Saturday, July 25. The event will be held rain or shine.
Race format and onsite details
The Beer Mile consists of four 1/4 mile laps. Before each lap, runners must drink a 12 ounce beer provided by the event. Relay teams include four members with one beer and one lap per member. Heats are limited to no more than 16 participants. The course is a quarter-mile loop on a paved parking lot. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers, age-group winners, male and female DFL (Dead Freaking Last) Beer Mile, and the top three relay teams plus DFL for relays. Food trucks, live music in the evening, and raffles will be on site. If registration is completed after July 7, a t-shirt in the requested size may not be guaranteed.
