Huntley Historical Society - Sew Hop'd Beer Mile
The Huntley Historical Society - Sew Hop'd Beer Mile is a fundraiser held in Huntley, Illinois at 1 Union Special Plaza on July 25, 2026. The event offers two formats: an individual Beer Mile and a four person team relay, each covering 1 mile composed of four quarter mile laps on a paved parking lot. For each lap a participant drinks a 12 ounce Sew Hop'd beer provided by the event, in the sequence drink, run, drink, run.
Registration opens March 30, 2026 and closes July 20, 2026. Standard fees listed are $65 for the individual Beer Mile and $45 for the relay; registration prices increase after July 20 to $75 and $55 respectively. New for 2026, registering for both events in the same transaction reduces the combined fee by $10; registrants receive one swag bag and one shirt per transaction. Registration includes a T-shirt, custom bib, beer glass, finishers medal, chip timing, and race photos.
Heats are limited to 16 participants and begin every 30 minutes; participants select a heat at check-in. Awards include top three male and female finishers, age group awards, male and female DFL awards, and top three relay teams plus a relay DFL. Participants must be 21 years of age on the event date.
