Huntley Historical Society Sew Hop'd Beer Mile
The Huntley Historical Society Sew Hop'd Beer Mile is a fundraising event held in Huntley, Illinois on July 25, 2026 at 1 Union Special Plaza. The event offers two race formats: an individual Beer Mile and a four person team relay.
The course is a quarter mile loop on a paved parking lot. The individual Beer Mile consists of four 1/4 mile laps with a 12 ounce Sew Hop'd beer consumed before each lap. In the relay each of four team members drinks one 12 ounce Sew Hop'd beer and runs one 1/4 mile lap before tagging the next teammate. Participants must use the beer provided by the event. Heats are limited to no more than 16 participants and start at 30 minute intervals.
Registration opens March 30 2026 and closes July 20 2026. Early registration fees listed for the event are $65 for the individual Beer Mile and $45 for the relay. Registration after July 20 is higher. New in 2026 a combined purchase of both the individual and relay entries in the same transaction offers a $10 savings and includes one swag bag and one shirt. Registrations after July 7 may not receive a guaranteed shirt size.
The event is rain or shine; organizers may cancel for heavy rain and no refunds will be issued. Participants must be 21 years of age on the event date. Awards and age group prizes are given for top finishers and relay teams, and race registration includes a shirt, custom bib, beer glass, finisher medal, chip timing, and race photos.
