Huntley Historical Society Sew Hop'd Beer Mile
The event is a fundraising beer mile held in Huntley at 1 Union Special Plaza and benefits the Huntley Historical Society. It offers two entry formats: an individual Beer Mile and a four-person team relay. Both formats cover a total of one mile split into four quarter mile laps on a paved parking lot loop.
In the individual format each participant consumes four 12 oz Sew Hop'd beers and runs four quarter mile laps in the sequence drink, run, drink, run, drink, run, drink, run. In the relay format each team member drinks one 12 oz Sew Hop'd beer, runs one quarter mile lap, then tags the next team member. All alcoholic beverages must be the beer provided by the event; nonalcoholic beer is also available.
Heats are limited to 16 participants and start at 30 minute intervals. Participants are automatically entered in a raffle for multiple gift baskets. Registration includes a T shirt, custom bib, beer glass, finishers medal, chip timing, and event photos. Packet pickup is scheduled for Saturday, July 25.
