The Sew Hop'd Beer Mile is scheduled for July 25, 2026, at Sew Hop'd Brewery and Taproom in Huntley, Illinois. The event benefits The Huntley Historical Society and will be held rain or shine. Participation is limited to people who are 21 years of age or older on the event date. Packet pickup is scheduled for Saturday, July 25.
Format and distances
- 1 mile : four 1/4 mile laps with a 12 ounce beer consumed before each lap.
- 4 x 1/4 mile relay : four-person teams, one beer and one lap per team member.
Heats will be run with no more than 16 participants per heat and will be staged at regular intervals. The event requires participants to drink the beer provided by the event.
Registration, inclusions and awards
Standard registration shows a base price for the individual Beer Mile and a price shown for relay entries; registration fees increase after July 20. Registration opens on March 30, 2026. Registration includes a t-shirt, custom bib, beer glass, finisher medal, chip timing, and pictures. Organizers note that t-shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for sign-ups after an indicated cutoff date.
Awards will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers, age group winners, top three relay teams, and designated last-place awards. Food trucks and live music are planned on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
