Event information
The McHenry County Santa Run For Kids takes place on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at the Raue Center for the Arts, 26 N. Williams Street, Crystal Lake, IL. The event includes these distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Run/Walk
- 50 yard dash (kids, free)
5K participants receive a complete Santa suit or a race shirt. 1 Mile participants receive a finishers gift.
Registration and logistics
Registration fees listed for the event include a 1 Mile fee of $18.04 and 5K fees of $39.44 (Aug 17 - Oct 26) and $50.14 (Oct 27 - Dec 7). Pre-race packet pickup is offered at Smith Physical Therapy + Running Academy, 110 W. Woodstock Street, Crystal Lake on the Friday and Saturday before the event. Race day registration and packet pick up are at the Raue Center for the Arts on the event day. Additional race shirts are available for $15.
Awards and fundraising
The 5K awards top overall male and top overall female, plus 1st-3rd place male and female in age groups starting at 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24 and continuing through 80+. The event is a fundraiser managed by the McHenry County Races Foundation; the page shows $1,083.78 raised (96% reported).
