Humanity Direct Tring Trail Challenge
The Humanity Direct Tring Trail Challenge is a one-day trail event that starts and finishes at Tring Cricket Club in Hertfordshire and uses routes through the Chilterns. Distances offered:
- 50 km
- 27 km
- 10 km
The route includes sections through Ashridge Forest, the Grand Union Canal and Wendover Woods and follows National Trails and footpaths with additional event way marking. GPX and printable route files are provided for pre-race familiarisation.
Support and facilities included on event day comprise transport to and from Tring station, free parking, marked course, full medical cover, toilets, showers and changing facilities, checkpoint food and water at regular intervals, finishers medals, free finish refreshments and event photos available to download. There are four checkpoints on the full ultra, two checkpoints on the half ultra and no checkpoints on the 10 km route. Participants should bring their own cups and any special food for dietary needs, labelled for checkpoint teams.
The only compulsory kit items listed are a fully charged mobile phone and at least 500 ml of water; additional items may be required depending on weather. The minimum age to enter is 18. Entries close one week before the event or when full and a waitlist may operate. Entry fees can be donated to Humanity Direct or entrants can choose a free entry option if they commit to fundraising, with a stated minimum fundraising target.
