HUA Sports 5K, Half Marathon and Marathon
HUA Sports stages three road races on a C&O Canal Towpath course that starts and finishes in Point of Rocks, Maryland. The course is an out and back route that follows the Potomac River on a wide, semi paved gravel path. The surface is described as flat and shaded by trees.
The event is USATF sanctioned and uses USATF certified courses, and the courses can be used for Boston Marathon qualification. Timing is electronic using chip timing. All participants receive a race premium T shirt and finishers receive finisher medals. Post race food and drinks will be available. Cash prizes are awarded to top finishers and additional prizes will be given to other runners.
Awards are given to the top three men and top three women in each age group for the Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K. Age group scoring uses chip time. Age group categories are 44 and under and 45 and over. The event is organized by the Chinese running community in the greater Washington, D.C. area.
