Event Overview
The HRCA Wildcat Mountain Trail Races take place on October 3, 2026, in Littleton, Colorado. The event features adult trail races and a separate kids' race.
Distances
The main event offers two trail race distances:
- 10-mile trail race
- 10K trail race
A separate, untimed Kid's Race is also available for children aged 0–12.
Course and Location
The race begins at the Douglas County East/West Trailhead at Rocky Heights Middle School. The course follows the E/W Trail into the HRCA Backcountry Wilderness Area and connects directly to the Wildcat Mountain trails. The terrain is described as 100% dirt trails with rolling hills and open mountain views. Wildlife may be present in the Backcountry Wilderness Area.
Event Details
For adult participants, registration includes a dry-fit race t-shirt, a custom race bib, a custom finisher medal, a pancake breakfast, and post-race beer. Kids' registration includes a custom race bib and a finisher medal.
Aid stations with water will be available on the course. For safety and to follow Leave No Trace principles, participants are encouraged to bring their own hydration system. Dogs and strollers are not permitted on the course. Free parking is available at Rocky Heights Middle School and Rock Canyon High School.
Kids' Race
The Kid's Race is a series of untimed, non-competitive races held at the end of the event day. Distances vary by age group: approximately 0.25 miles for ages 2–4, 0.62 miles for ages 5–7, 1 mile for ages 8–10, and 2 miles for ages 11–12.
