Howie Levy 5K Run/Walk
The Howie Levy 5K Run/Walk is an annual community event held at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York. Now in its 12th year, the race takes place at Field 2 and utilizes a USATF Certified course that is described as flat and fast. The event serves as a fundraiser benefiting both the Howie Levy Memorial Camp Scholarship Fund at the Mid-Island Y JCC and pancreatic cancer research.
Participants can choose between two primary registration options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk
The in-person event provides amenities such as water and refreshments after the race, finisher medals, and a raffle. T-shirts are available while supplies last. Participants who register at least three weeks before the race date receive a personalized bib with their name printed on it. For those competing in person, bib pickup begins one hour before the event start.
Awards are presented to the top male and female overall finishers. Additionally, the top three male and female participants in several age categories will be recognized, with groups ranging from 14 and under to 70 and above. Results are provided live online and include finish line photographs. Virtual participants have a one-week window to complete their distance and upload their times to the official results page. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
