About the race
The SKECHERS Hot Chocolate Run in San Francisco is a timed running event held in Golden Gate Park with multiple distance options and a post-race party. The course starts and finishes near the Music Concourse and passes notable park sites and nearby oceanfront scenery.

The route includes or passes the Japanese Tea Garden, Huntington Falls, Murphy Windmill, the San Francisco Botanical Garden, Golden Gate Polo Fields, the Great Highway near Ocean Beach, the Bison Paddock, and the JFK Promenade. The event course is professionally managed and the races are professionally timed.
Participants receive a swag kit that includes a full-zip fleece jacket and a finisher's medal. At the finish line participants are offered a finisher's mug with chocolate fondue, dippables, and hot chocolate. A post-race party on site features music and vendors. Free high-resolution race photos and official race times are emailed to participants, and live runner tracking is available the week of the event.
A Ghirardelli Cocoa Club upgrade provides a branded canvas tote with single-serve cocoa, a Hot Chocolate Store credit, VIP corral placement, access to a Cocoa Club area, and an upgraded onsite experience that may include a hot breakfast item, heaters, dedicated restrooms, premium Ghirardelli hot cocoa, and extra dippables.
