San Francisco SKECHERS Hot Chocolate Run
The SKECHERS Hot Chocolate Run takes place in San Francisco, with the course primarily set within Golden Gate Park. Participants can choose from three different distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 15K
The route features several local landmarks, including the San Francisco Botanical Garden, the Japanese Tea Garden, and the Murphy Windmill. Runners also pass by the Huntington Falls, the Bison Paddock, and the JFK Promenade, with sections of the course reaching the Great Highway near Ocean Beach. All three races are professionally timed and managed on a closed course.
Participants receive a runner's kit that includes a full-zip branded jacket and a commemorative medal. After crossing the finish line, a post-race party is held in the park near the Music Concourse. This celebration features music, live vendors, and a finisher's mug filled with chocolate fondue, dippables, and hot chocolate.
Additional amenities include free high-resolution race photos and live runner tracking for friends and family. An expo and packet pickup are held in the days leading up to the event at the Sports Basement in the Presidio, where attendees can browse merchandise and visit various vendors.
Overall awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Age group awards are also provided for categories ranging from under 14 to over 80. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
