Horsing Around in the Dog Days of Summer 5k/10k
This community event is held at the Horse Arena at the Tuscola County Fairgrounds, 188 Park Drive, Caro. Multiple foot-race and walk options are offered, including youth and dog-friendly categories.

- 5k walk (3.1 miles)
- 5k run (3.1 miles)
- 10k run (6 miles)
- 5K Youth walk
- 5k Youth run
Entry fee information is provided: a $30 entry includes a t-shirt (no guarantee for entries after June 27). Day-of registration is listed at $35 without a t-shirt and accepts Venmo, cash, or check only. Packet pick up is available on the day before and the morning of the event at the Horse Arena Pavilion.
Course and logistics notes: the posted course follows the same route used by the Child Advocacy Center. 5k walkers start shortly after the runners and are advised to stay to the right side of the course to avoid blocking runners. Participants in the 5k walk may bring costumed dogs; all participating pups receive a pup cup at the finish.
Awards and finish items: awards for overall and age-category placings are listed for the 5k walk, 5k run, and 10k run, plus best dressed pup costumes. All finishers receive a 2 1/2 inch medal with lanyard.
Proceeds support local youth equine education and a donation will be made to Cass River Pet Friendz to aid stray animal efforts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
