12th Annual KC 5K Run/Walk for Food Pantries
The KC 5K Run/Walk takes place in Cass City, Michigan, starting at the St. Pancratius Church parking lot. Organized by the Central Thumb Knights of Columbus Council 8892, this event utilizes the facilities of Our Lady Consolata Parish. The proceeds from the race support local food resources, specifically the Our Lady Consolata Parish Food Pantry at St. Agatha's in Gagetown and the Revive Ministries Food Pantry in Cass City.
The event offers two distinct routes for participants:
- 5 km run or walk on a mixed terrain course of pavement, gravel, and footpaths.
- 1 mile exercise walk held entirely on paved surfaces within the town.
The 5 km route transition through town and country sections, including a segment on a rail trail that crosses over the Cass River. The race is a timed event where results determine several recognition tiers. Special awards are presented to the overall fastest male and female runners and walkers. Additionally, medals are awarded to those finishing in the top three positions for both men and women across various age groups.
Participants who register early are guaranteed a t-shirt in their preferred size, ranging from Small to XXL. Packet pickup and registration take place at the church social hall or the parking lot, depending on the weather conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
