Kill the Hill 5K Vassar
Kill the Hill is a community 5K run/walk in Vassar, Michigan that begins in downtown Vassar, climbs the M 15 hill, and returns near the Cass River area pavilion and downtown. The course is marked with signs produced by Cold Sky Apparel Co that include historical information about Vassar’s past as a logging community and the work of the Historical Society and Vassar Museum.
The event lists a 2026 title partner as REMAX New Image. Proceeds for 2026 are designated to help make the event annual, to support restoration of the Vassar Chamber of Commerce, and to fund additional local events.
Shirts for the 2026 event will be made for participants who request sizes during registration. Participants who register before September 1 will have shirts available at packet pickup prior to the race on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Registrations after September 6, 2026 may not receive a race shirt on event day. A very limited number of shirts will be available for purchase the day of the event, and additional shirts can be ordered through Cold Sky Apparel Co.
A kid’s fun run takes place before the main 5K for children ages 3 to 17. All youth under 17 must have an accompanying adult sign the event waiver. The fun run does not include a separate post race shirt.
