Horsethief Canyon Trail Half Marathon

The event takes place on an out and back course run on a dirt fire road in the Pine Creek Wilderness. The route is mostly uphill until the turnaround and mostly downhill on the return to the finish. The fire road is described as very wide and not very technical, with generally good footing in variable weather.

A volunteer will verify numbers at the turnaround to confirm completion of the out and back section. Permissions for the course have been granted by the U.S. Forest Service, and participants are asked to respect the surrounding lands.

Parking is available at the Horsethief Canyon Trailhead, located on Forest Route 16S04 in Alpine, California. The event includes more than one distance option to accommodate different race choices on the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
