Horseneck Half

Event Overview

The Horseneck Half & 3.5 Miler is a running event held on May 17, 2026, in Westport, Massachusetts. The event features two race distances: a Half Marathon and a 3.5 Mile Run.

Location and Course

The event starts and finishes at Horseneck Beach State Reservation, located at 5 John Reed Road in Westport. Horseneck Beach is frequently ranked among the top beaches in New England. The half marathon course passes water views, rolling farmlands, and vineyards. The 3.5-mile route offers ocean views, including a section with a three-sided water view from Gooseberry Island and a mile along the ocean.

Event Features

Participants receive a Craft Sports technical race shirt and 10th-anniversary swag. The half marathon has five water stops, and the 3.5-mile run has one, featuring Skratch Labs rehydration drink. All participants get free coffee at the start/finish. There is a complimentary post-race party for runners, which includes one hot meal from Bon Me, one beer ticket for Black Hat Brew Works beer (for participants 21 or older), and recovery drinks from Skratch Labs, New England Dairy, and Loco Coffee. A DJ provides music. Finishers of the half marathon receive a medal.

Awards

Awards are given for both distances. The top three overall male and female finishers in each race receive awards. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in categories from 19 & under to 70+. Team prizes are available, with the top three fastest teams recognized based on the combined time of their first three finishers. Teams also receive a growler of Buzzards Bay Brewery beer for every five runners.

Registration and Logistics

Race number and shirt pickup is available at Westport River Winery the day before the race or at Horseneck State Beach on race day beginning at 7:30 AM.
