The Horse Capital Marathon & Half Marathon takes place on April 11, 2026 in Lexington, Kentucky. The event is the 11th annual running held near the Kentucky Horse Park Campground at 3785 Campground Road, Lexington, KY 40511. The event includes in-person and virtual options, plus a volunteer registration category. All in-person and virtual participants receive a commemorative long-sleeved performance/technical shirt and a finisher's medal.

Course and logistics
Both races start and finish at the Kentucky Horse Park Campground area and use the paved Legacy Trail for the opening and closing segments. The courses run mostly on Central Kentucky country roads and pass by more than 50 horse farms. The marathon has 17 hydration stations, spaced about 1.5-1.75 miles apart, serving water and SWORD electrolyte drink; the half marathon has 8 stations, spaced about 1.75 miles apart, with water and SWORD. Portable restrooms are provided at each station; the marathon will have some bananas and salty snacks at two later stations. Elevation change is listed as approximately 1,260 feet for the marathon and 570 feet for the half. The marathon has a 6-hour maximum time limit, which requires an average pace of about 14 minutes 30 seconds per mile to finish in time. Packet pickup is available at J&H Outdoors on the Thursday and Friday before the race and at the race venue on race day for out-of-town runners. The race benefits Blue Grass Farms Charities.
