Horse Capital Marathon & Half Marathon : Lexington, KY
The Horse Capital Marathon & Half Marathon takes place on April 10, 2027, at the Kentucky Horse Park Campground in Lexington, Kentucky. The courses run mainly on rolling, scenic Central Kentucky country roads and pass by more than 50 horse farms; a short section at the beginning and end uses the Legacy Trail.
The event includes on-course support and participant items:
- 26.2 miles Marathon
- 13.1 miles Half Marathon
- Virtual option for 13.1 or 26.2 miles with mailed packet
All in-person and virtual participants receive a commemorative performance/technical shirt and a finisher's medal. The marathon has a pace limit that corresponds to a six hour maximum duration; marathon entrants must maintain about a 14 minute 30 second per mile pace or faster to finish within that limit. The marathon course features 19 hydration stations serving water and electrolyte drink; the half marathon has 8 hydration stations. The race provides race pacers, free race photos, post-race stretching, and Kentucky Horse Country inspired awards. Packet pickup is scheduled on days before the race and limited pickup is available at the race venue for out-of-town participants.
