Horning Hawks Run

Event Overview

The Horning Hawks Run is a community event honoring the history and legacy of Horning Middle School. It is open to current and former students, staff, families, and community members. The event will be held at Horning Middle School / Banting Park in Waukesha.

Available Events

The event features three age-based options:

• Half Mile for grades 1–5.
• Middle/High School 3K for grades 6–12.
• Open 3K Hawk Walk/Run for college-aged participants and adults.

Proceeds from the event support Horning Track & Field and PBIS.

Registration & Fees

Registration fees are listed per event. For the Half Mile, the price is $0. For the Middle/High School 3k Run and Open 3k Hawk Walk/Run, the price is $20 each. Registration ends on May 30, 2026. The fee covers race registration and overhead, with extra funds going towards the Track & Field team's jerseys and event shirts.

Race Day Information

On the day of the event, participants can pick up their commemorative race bib in the Horning Cafeteria on Wolf Road after 8:00 AM. Event shirts can also be picked up there if purchased. The start line is in front of the main office, and the finish line is in front of the cafeteria. The cafeteria will have bathrooms, snacks, and water available.

All participants will receive a finisher medal. Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place are given for both male and female participants in each event.

Course Details

The 3K course is 1.86 miles long and consists of two laps. Most of the course is on sidewalks. The middle section, in the Banting Park field, is on grass. The north side along Wolf Road between Butler Drive and Allen Lane is on grass between trees and the street. The course will be marked with flags, cones, and instructions from helpers.

Parking

All parking lots at the venue will be unavailable for spectators. Parking is available on the city streets surrounding the schools and park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
