9th Annual Horizon Hustle 5K
The Horizon Hustle 5K is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Horizon Science Academy - McKinley Park in Chicago, located at 2245 W. Pershing Road, IL 60609. The event is a live 5K road race that supports Horizon Science Academy.
The race uses chip timing with results reported under USTAF rules using a gun start. Organizers note that a chip-start system is in place, so an individual runner's chip time may differ from the official gun time shown on the race clock.
Timing requires a shoe tag system plus a visible race bib. To receive an official time, participants must wear both shoe tags and their bib on the front of the body; missing tags or an improperly worn bib will result in disqualification. Pull tabs will not be used.
Event features include a T-shirt for registrants who register before May 10, 2025, a timed race, and a post-race party at Horizon Science Academy with food, drinks, music, and activities for children. Awards will be presented to the top male and female in two age groups: 17 and under, and 18 and above. Early registration fees listed are $25 for general admission and $15 for youth.
