Stars & Spikes: Totally Rad 5k
Stars & Spikes is the ninth annual community running event held on May 9, 2026, at Madison Elementary, 150 W Madison St., Lombard, Illinois. The event is hosted by Madison and Hammerschmidt Elementaries and uses an 1980s neon theme for race apparel and participant attire.
The event program offers multiple participation options:
- 5k (3.1 Miles)
- 1 mile
- Swag only option
Registration opens March 20, 2026 for race entries. Race registration fees are listed by age: 5k : $30 for ages 19 and older, $10 for ages 18 and under; 1 mile : $15 for ages 19 and older, $10 for ages 18 and under. A swag only registration option is available with a separate registration window.
Registered 5k and 1 mile participants receive a race shirt with their registration. To guarantee a race shirt, registration must be completed by April 19 at 11:59 PM. Race swag will be sent home with the student name indicated during registration. Not affiliated registration packets are available on race day beginning at 7:30 AM.
