Event Details
The Hopefest takes place on May 9, 2026. It is held at a new location: Central High School Football Stadium in Evansville, Indiana. The event is presented by Ascension St. Vincent Hospital.
Events
Participants can choose from several activities:
- A 5K run/walk. Walkers are welcome, but pets are not allowed.
- A Hope Walk which is a 1-mile walk.
- A Survivor's Parade to honor cancer survivors. This is a free celebration.
Registration and Awards
Registration includes a short-sleeve cotton t-shirt for participants in the 5K, 1-mile walk, and Survivor's Parade. Children aged 3 and under can participate in the walk for free but do not receive a t-shirt.
The event offers awards. There is a $100 cash prize for the overall male and female winners in the 5K. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers across many categories from 14 & under to 70+.
Additional Activities
Beyond the runs and walks, the event features a community festival atmosphere. There is a Cruise-In Car Show, food trucks, community partners, and kids' activities such as face painting and inflatables.
Logistics
Packet pickup details are to be determined, but will occur at the Chemo Buddies Office on Bellemeade Avenue prior to the event. Event day check-in begins at 8:30 AM at the registration table. Professional timing is provided by Rise Up and Run. The event takes place rain or shine, and no refunds are issued. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
