Dashing through the Lights Fun Run/Walk - Evansville
This event takes place on December 12, 2026, at Deaconess Sports Park, 4300 Heckel Rd., Evansville, IN. It is organized as a noncompetitive fun run and walk held on the park loop that passes by the holiday lights.
There are two entry categories:
- Adult Fun Run/Walk - 1 mile
- Student Fun Run/Walk (ages 5-15) - 1 mile
The basic loop from the start line around the lights and back to the finish measures one mile. Participants who complete more than one lap will remain on the lights loop; each additional lap is 0.75 miles. Runners and walkers return to the finish area only when they are done.
Registration includes same-day sign-up and no early check-in; check-in takes place on event day at the Goebel Soccer Complex side of the park. Parking for participants is on the Goebel Soccer Complex side and requires a short walk to the course and check-in area.
Fees are listed by category: $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 15. Optional race shirts are available for an additional fee ($12 adults, $10 kids). A credit card processing fee is added at checkout and all sales are final with no refunds.
The event is un-timed and does not include awards. It will proceed in typical weather; in the event of snow or ice a makeup date will be announced. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
