Bright Lights 5K & 1-Mile Walk
This event takes place on December 2, 2026, at Garvin Park in Evansville, located at 23 Don Mattingly Way. The site will be closed to vehicle and carriage traffic and open for runners, walkers, and people using mobility equipment.

The 5K course is three loops around Garvin Park that pass the lighted attractions and return to the starting area near Main Street and Morgan Avenue. A water stop is located near the end of the first loop. After completing three laps participants return to the starting area. Medals are provided to the first 400 finishers.
Walkers may participate in the 5K or the one mile walk. Walkers registered for the 5K may also take the one mile walk at no additional cost. Walkers on the 5K are asked to keep a pace that allows runners to pass and to aim to complete the course within about one hour.
Awards are given to overall male and female winners and to the top two males and females in each of the listed age groups: 1-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 plus.
Parking is available in the lot next to Bosse Field and in the overflow area on Heidelbach Avenue; parking is not allowed inside Garvin Park.
