Bright Lights 5K & 1-Mile Walk : Evansville
The Bright Lights event on December 2, 2026 takes place at Garvin Park in Evansville and benefits Easterseals. For this night Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights is closed to vehicle and carriage traffic and open to runners, walkers, and people using mobility equipment.
- Bright Lights 5K : approx 2.88 miles, three loops
- Bright Lights 1 Mile Walk : non-competitive, one-mile course
The 5K follows three loops around Garvin Park, passing the lighted attractions and the fountain area. The route begins near Main Street and Morgan Avenue and returns there after completing the laps. Participants who register for the 5K may also take part in the 1 Mile Walk at no additional cost.
Event rules and services include no carriage rides and no dogs except service dogs. The 1 Mile Walk is non-competitive and does not include awards or T-shirts. 5K finishers receive medals for overall winners, and awards are presented to the top two male and female finishers in age groups from 1–9 up to 80+.
Packet pickup is available in advance at Ultimate Fit and on event day at Garvin Park. Parking is provided in the lot next to Bosse Field and in overflow parking on Heidelbach Avenue; parking is not permitted inside Garvin Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
