Rotary Santa Run 5K & Family Events (Evansville, IN)
The Evansville Rotary Santa Run takes place on December 5, 2026 at the Buffalo Trace Council Eykamp Scout Center, 3501 E. Lloyd Expressway, Evansville. This is the 13th annual edition and includes multiple timed and untimed events.
Distances:
- 5K Run/Walk : 3.1 miles
- 1 mile Family Fun Walk : 1 mile
- Santa Elf kids run : 50 to 150 meters by age
The 5K course travels west to Vann Avenue and winds through east-side residential neighborhoods; the course is described as relatively flat. The 1-mile walk leads participants over the pedestrian bridge and returns to the start. The Santa Elf kids run is for ages 1–9 with specified distances by age group; all kids finishers receive a medal.
Awards include trophies for the overall fastest male and female in the 5K and first-place medals in multiple age groups from youth through 80+. A Most Spirited program will recognize five categories: Families, Teams, Kids (1–9), Young Adults (10–18), and Adults 19+.
Logistics: packet pickup and Santa suit distribution occur the day before and on race day at the Buffalo Trace Council lobby; suits and bibs are not mailed. Initial registration fees are listed as $25 for the 5K and 1-mile events and $5 for the kids run, with a later registration rate noted. The event is officially timed by To the Finish. Strollers are allowed in the 5K with caution; bicycles and strollers are allowed in the 1-mile walk. Animals, skates, skateboards, and scooters are not allowed.
