Hooters River, Roots & Ruts Trail Run
The event takes place on January 4, 2026 in Alva, FL at Caloosahatchee Regional Park (19130 North River Road, Alva, FL 33920). The sanctioned event includes a 10 mile trail run.
Course and field
The course uses both sides of the park: wide nature trails on the south side and single-lane mountain bike trails on the north side. The race is limited to 350 participants. The course time limit is 3 hours.
Registration and logistics
Early registration rates end December 3, 2025. Late registration runs from December 4, 2025 through January 3, 2026. Online registration closes at 5 p.m. on January 3, 2026. There is no race day registration. Packet pick-up is at the park pavilion. Proceeds support the Fort Myers Track Club, youth and scholarship programs, trail maintenance by the Mudcutters Bicycle Club, and Fort Myers High School cross country and track programs.
Awards and giveaways
Results and awards are based on chip time. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall, and top three men and women in Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Grand Masters. Age-group awards (top three men and women) cover standard five-year brackets from 20-24 through 75-79 and include 80 plus. All participants receive a finisher shirt and a glass tumbler.
