Event overview
The Honey Badger 100 is an ultramarathon in Wichita, KS. The event distance is 100 Mile. The race has a 36-hour overall time limit and includes a hard 18-hour cutoff at approximately 53.35 miles. Registration closes July 9; registering by June 18 guarantees a shirt.
Course and staging
The start and finish are at the West Shore area of Cheney State Park. A little over 7 miles of the course are inside the state park (about 6.5 miles at the beginning and just under 1 mile at the end). Approximately 92.9 miles of the course run on roads in Kingman County. Packet pickup is on race morning, followed by a brief pre-race briefing.
Crew, aid and support
All runners must provide their own crew (minimum one person) and one vehicle. Crews must carry all food and at least 12 gallons of water and 30 lb of ice. Only one crew vehicle is allowed with a runner at a time. A gift card for a Loves store is provided to the runner for ice purchase at about the 45-mile point.
Logistics and awards
The staging area is at Cheney State Park (West Shore). The park area offers campsites without hookups near the start/finish, full-hookup sites about one mile away, cabins when available, and restroom and shower facilities. Closest hotels are in Goddard or Kingman (about 20 miles) and Wichita (a little over 30 miles). Awards are presented to the male and female overall winners; finishers receive buckles.
