Honey Badger 100
The Honey Badger 100 is a 100 mile ultramarathon near Wichita, Kansas, with the start and finish located at the West Shore area of Cheney State Park. The course includes a little over seven miles inside Cheney State Park and about 92.9 miles on roads in Kingman County.
The event enforces a 36 hour overall time limit. There is an 18 hour cutoff at approximately 53.35 miles; these are hard deadlines.
All runners must provide their own crew support. Each runner needs a minimum of one crew person and one crew vehicle, all personal food, at least 12 gallons of water, and 30 pounds of ice. Only one crew vehicle is allowed at a time. If additional crew members assist, an extra 5 gallon water cooler and a large ice chest are encouraged. Runners will receive a gift card for a Loves location near the 45 mile point intended for ice purchases.
Check in and staging are at the West Shore Area of Cheney State Park. Packet pickup occurs on race morning and is followed by a brief pre race briefing. A day use fee is required per vehicle if not staying in the park.
There are campsites and some cabins near the start area, full restroom and shower facilities in the park, nearby full hookup sites about one mile away, and hotel options in Goddard, Kingman, and Wichita. Registration closes July 9. No refunds are offered; deferrals to the following year are allowed up to 30 days before the event. Shirts are guaranteed only for registrants by June 18. Awards are given to the male and female overall winners and buckles are awarded to all finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
