Race 4 Freedom 5K
The 15th annual Race 4 Freedom is a fundraising run and walk held on September 12, 2026, on the campus of Carpenter Place in Wichita, Kansas, at 1501 N. Meridian. The event includes in person and virtual options and benefits ICT S.O.S. to support efforts against human trafficking.
Distances include:
- 5K Run/Walk (flat course through the Indian Hills neighborhood and along the river)
- Family Fun Run, about 1/3 of a mile contained within the Carpenter Place campus
- Virtual 5K, run or walk from any location
Proceeds support ICT S.O.S. and local partner agencies. Over the first 14 years the event raised more than $300,000 and helped support nine local direct service agencies in Wichita: Carpenter Place, The Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County, Youthville, Healthcare Haven, Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center, Kansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Family Promise, Rise Up for Youth, and ICT SOS.
Funds have been used to improve facilities, provide additional services, and make resources more readily available for victims and survivors. Since 2021 funds have supported the Not Alone Exploitation Awareness educational programming, advocacy services, and Fresh Start bags provided by ICT S.O.S.
