The Golden Harvest (Hometown) event in Wichita features a wide range of distances for road running participants. Organized by Bodies Race Company-Wichita, the event provides several timed and untimed options to accommodate different preferences. Participants can select from the following distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10k (6.2 miles)
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile
- Kid's Dash (50 meters)
The Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k races are chip-timed, providing athletes with live results and awards. To assist runners in the Half Marathon, pacers are available on the course. The 1 Mile and Kid's Dash are untimed events focusing on participation. The Kid's Dash specifically serves children aged 10 and under, with a free participation option available for those who do not require event merchandise.
All registered participants in the timed and untimed distances receive a designer shirt, a custom bib, and a finisher medal. To ensure a shirt is included, registration must be completed by midnight on the Thursday two weeks before the event. Participants also have access to free event photos and treats at the finish line. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual race option is available, allowing runners to complete their chosen distance and receive event materials via mail.
