Heatwave Half Marathon - Grand Rapids
The event takes place at Caledonia High School in Caledonia, Michigan on July 26, 2026. It includes multiple in-person running options, a relay option, a volunteer-and-run option, and a virtual race.
Distances and participant options:
- 50 m Kids Dash for ages 10 and under
- 1 mile untimed fun run
- 5K
- 10K
- Half marathon 13.1 miles
- Half marathon relay teams of any size
- Virtual race option and a Running Buddy half marathon option with prior approval
Race features noted by the organizer include designer shirts, custom finisher medals, event bibs, free event photos, chip timing with live results and awards for applicable races, and free ice cream at the finish. Relay team members must each register individually and then create a team. Volunteer Then Run participants are asked to arrive 30 minutes before packet pickup to assist and may then run a chosen distance.
Virtual registrants receive a digital bib, an event shirt, a mailed finisher medal and packet shipping; virtual packets ship the Wednesday after the race. To guarantee a shirt, register by midnight on the Thursday two weeks before the event. Youth pricing of $17 applies to the 5K and 10K for ages 12 and under.
