About the race
The Home Run 5K is an annual road race held on the campus of the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home in Middlesex, North Carolina (7907 Buck Deans Road, 27557). The course begins and ends in the center of campus, passes through the campus and surrounding farmland, and includes several small hills.
The event supports children served by the Children’s Home through programs that include Alternative Family Placement, Family Foster Care and Adoptions, and Thrive Independent Living. Entry fee for pre-registration is $30 per participant; day-of registration is $40 per participant. Group pricing is available for online group registrations of six or more.
Awards are given to the top three overall female and male finishers, and to the top three male and female finishers in age categories Under 10, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. There is also an award for the largest group of registered participants; eligibility for that award requires online registration during the pre-registration window and is not available for day-of registration.
Packet pick-up and check-in take place in Heritage Hall on the Children’s Home campus. Parking is across campus from the check-in and start/finish areas; entrants should use Children’s Home Road to enter campus from Highway 231, as Buck Deans Road from Highway 231 to campus will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event.
Strollers are welcome. Bicycles, skateboards, and pets are not allowed on the course or at the race site. Unclaimed shirts will not be held or mailed to participants who are not present at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
