Home Run 5K - Free Will Baptist Children’s Home, Middlesex NC
The Home Run 5K takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home campus, 7907 Buck Deans Road, Middlesex, NC 27557. The event supports children served through the Children’s Home programs and the Home’s work with youth in and aging out of foster care.
The Home provides caring, supportive homes through its Alternative Family Placement, Family Foster Care and Adoptions, and Thrive Independent Living programs. The 5K course starts and ends in the center of campus, runs through the campus and surrounding farmland, and includes several small hills.
Registration information lists a pre-registration fee of $30 and a day-of registration fee of $40, with group pricing available for online groups of six or more. A giveaway is noted: participants who register by April 15 receive a Home Run 5K short sleeve t-shirt.
Awards are provided for the top three overall female and male finishers and for the top three male and female finishers in age categories Under 10, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. An award is also offered for the largest registered group when the group registers online during the pre-registration window; this award is not available for day-of registration.
Packet pick-up and check-in occur on the Children’s Home campus in Heritage Hall. Parking is across campus from check-in and the start and finish; participants are advised to allow time to park and walk across campus. Strollers are welcome. Bicycles and skateboards are not allowed on the course, and pets are not allowed at the race site. Unclaimed shirts will not be held or mailed. The event is timed by Run The East, LLC.
