Event overview
The Home Run 5K takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home in Middlesex, North Carolina (7907 Buck Deans Road). The race is the 10th annual edition and supports children served by the Children’s Home through programs for youth in and aging out of foster care, including Alternative Family Placement, Family Foster Care and Adoptions, and Thrive Independent Living.

The course starts and ends in the center of the campus, runs through the campus and surrounding farmland, and includes several small hills. The event is timed by Run The East, LLC.
Practical details
Pre-registration and day-of registration fees are listed as $30 and $40, respectively, with group pricing available for online groups of six or more. A short sleeve t-shirt is given to participants who register by April 15. Packet pick-up and check-in are held on the Children’s Home campus on race day in Heritage Hall.
Awards are given to the top three overall female and male finishers, and top three male and female finishers in age categories: Under 10, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. An award is also offered for the largest registered group when the group registers online during the pre-registration window.
Strollers are welcome; bicycles, skateboards, and pets are not allowed on the course or at the race site. Parking is located across campus from the start/finish and check-in areas. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
