Pot of Gold 5K
The Pot of Gold 5K is the ninth annual run and walk held in Knightdale on March 14, 2026. The event is based at Knightdale Station Park, with a listed location of 621 North First Ave, Knightdale, NC 27545.
The published registration fee is $35 and includes a Pot of Gold 5K shirt, a finisher's medal, locals' swag, and access to an online gallery of race day photos with free downloads for race participants. Registrations after February 21, 2026 are not guaranteed shirt size or shirt availability; remaining shirts will be distributed at registration pickups on March 13 and March 14 on a first come, first served basis.
A post-race packet pickup will be available on March 21, 2026 at Northside Community Church, 621 First Avenue N in Knightdale. Packets not collected during that pickup will be donated back to the Northside Compassion Project.
The event features morning food trucks and on-site packet pickup before the start. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers (overall winners are not eligible for age group awards) and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 6-10, 11-14, 15-18, 19-22, 23-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
All proceeds benefit Northside Compassion Box efforts. The Northside Compassion Project is a Knightdale-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works across Wake County to address shelter and food insecurity; funds from the race support a 24 hour food box supplying non-perishable food and hygiene items.
