Holy Trail Ultras : 15 May 2027
The event is a trail running festival centred on Nicholas Everitt Park in Oulton Broad with multiple ultra and marathon distance options on coastal and marshland trails in Suffolk. Routes use established long distance paths and pass through villages and coastal towns along the Suffolk Coast.
Distances offered:
- 50 mile ultra (loop starting and finishing at Nicholas Everitt Park)
- 50 km ultra (start in Holton, finish at Nicholas Everitt Park)
- Trail marathon (start in Walberswick, finish at Nicholas Everitt Park)
Course notes: the 50 mile route follows the Angles Way and East Suffolk Lines Walk, passing Carlton Marshes, Holton, Blythburgh Marshes, the Sandlings Walk and the Suffolk Coast Path before returning to Nicholas Everitt Park. The 50 km route crosses marshes to Blythburgh, goes via Walberswick and Dunwich, crosses the River Blyth to Southwold, continues on the Suffolk Coast Path to Lowestoft and follows the beach at Pakefield before linking to the Via Beata toward the finish. The trail marathon includes a loop around Walberswick and the coastal path to Southwold.
Support and logistics: registration takes place at venue village halls for each race. There are nearby rail stations and parking options. Checkpoints are provided at key villages and pubs and crew and supporters are welcome at checkpoints with a request to park considerately. Time limits apply to each distance.
