Holy Trail Ultras

The Holy Trail Ultras take place on 15 May 2027 around Oulton Broad and the Suffolk coast. The event offers three trail race options that use local footpaths, marshes and coastal trails and finish at Nicholas Everitt Park, Oulton Broad.

The routes use named local trails and places, including The Angles Way, Carlton Marshes, East Suffolk Lines Walk, Sandlings Walk, the Suffolk Coast Path and the Via Beata. Courses pass through or by Blythburgh, Walberswick, Southwold, Dunwich, Pakefield and Lowestoft, and several sections cross marshland and beach terrain.

Distances:

  • 50 Mile Ultra
  • 50 km Ultra
  • Trail Marathon

Each distance has a designated registration location: The Pavilion at Nicholas Everitt Park for the 50 mile race, Holton Village Hall for the 50 km race, and Walberswick Village Hall for the marathon. Checkpoints and waterpoints are listed on the race information and include Beccles Quay, Holton Village Hall, The White Hart Pub Blythburgh, Walberswick Village Hall, Covehithe (waterpoint only) and the Sailor's Home Pub Kessingland. Crew and supporters are welcome at checkpoints with a request to park considerately.

Time allowances are set for each event: 15 hours for the 50 mile ultra, 10 hours for the 50 km ultra and 8 hours for the trail marathon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
