Holy Trail Ultras
The Holy Trail Ultras take place on 15 May 2027 in and around Oulton Broad. The event comprises multiple trail distances that use local marshes, footpaths and the Suffolk coast and finish at Nicholas Everitt Park, Oulton Broad.
Distances offered include:
- 50 Mile Ultra loop from Nicholas Everitt Park via marshes and coastal paths
- 50 km Ultra point to point from Holton to Nicholas Everitt Park
- Trail Marathon route from Walberswick to Nicholas Everitt Park
Routes follow named long distance paths such as the Angles Way, the Sandlings Walk and the Suffolk Coast Path, and pass through places including Carlton Marshes, Blythburgh, Walberswick, Dunwich, Southwold and Lowestoft. Checkpoints listed for the races include Beccles Quay, Holton Village Hall, The White Hart Pub in Blythburgh, Walberswick Village Hall, Covehithe (waterpoint only) and the Sailor's Home Pub in Kessingland. Crew and supporters are welcome at checkpoints with a request to park considerately.
Registration and race hubs are located at The Pavilion, Nicholas Everitt Park NR33 9JR; Holton Village Hall IP19 8RZ; and Walberswick Village Hall IP18 6TZ. The Holton start is a short walk from Halesworth railway station and the Nicholas Everitt Park hub is a short walk from Oulton Broad North and South stations. Time limits are 15 hours for the 50 mile ultra, 10 hours for the 50 km ultra and 8 hours for the trail marathon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
