Adnams 10 km Run
The Adnams annual 10 km run takes place in Southwold and is organised as a community event that raises funds for local causes. The event uses a circular course of two and a half laps. The route starts at The Harbour Inn, passes The Common, and on the final circuit diverts up Queen’s Road to finish on South Green by The Red Lion pub.
The surface includes shingle at the harbour and there is an incline on the approach to the finish. Runners receive a medal and a goody bag after completing the course. Entry is limited to 860 places, allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Entry fees are set at £25 for UKA affiliated individual runners and affiliated teams, and £27 for non affiliated runners. All profit from the run, after costs, is donated to the Adnams Community Trust. The Trust awards grants to organisations within 25 miles of Southwold, and participants commonly use the event to raise additional funds for local good causes.
Registration for the event opens on 10 July and closes on 19 October. The event is described as an annual fixture in the area and has previously reached its capacity soon after entries opened. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
