Hokie Half Marathon and 5K
The Hokie Half Marathon and 5K returns to Blacksburg, Virginia, for its fourteenth anniversary. This event features a variety of distances held at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Park, with the half marathon course certified by USATF. Participants travel through local scenery with the support of live bands along the route.
Available distances include:
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
- 1.1 Miles (Kids Run)
The event offers several registration tiers for the 13.1-mile and 3.1-mile distances. Runners can choose between standard registration, which includes a participant shirt and finisher gift, or "no-frills" and "no-medal" options. A virtual participation window is also available from September 12 to September 20 for those unable to attend in person.
The half marathon has a four-hour time limit. Finish line festivities include food, drinks, and live music. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall in the half marathon, with cash prizes available. Age group awards are also provided for both the half marathon and 5K across various divisions.
Packet pickup takes place on the Saturday prior to the race at University Mall, featuring a small expo with running merchandise and apparel.
