Event overview
The 2026 Blacksburg Classic includes multiple race options in Blacksburg, Virginia, with main activities in February 2026 and race day on Saturday, February 21, 2026. It is the 41st edition and is presented by Roots Realty Group as part of the RunAbout Sports 2026 Race Series. Long sleeve race shirts are available to 5K and 10 mile registrants who sign up before midnight on February 8. All 10 miler finishers receive a finisher gift. A free 1 mile fun run is offered; fun run participants are not eligible for a race shirt or overall/age group awards.

Course and logistics
Both the 5K and 10 mile courses start at Margaret Beeks Elementary School and run briefly through the Miller Southside Neighborhood before using the Huckleberry Trail. The 5K and 10 mile share the first 2.6 miles; the 5K turns left to return to Margaret Beeks while the 10 mile continues for an out-and-back on the trail. Aid stations are located at miles 2, 4.5, 6, and 8; gels are available at the second and fourth aid stations. There is a soft cutoff of three hours for the 10 mile course; participants must maintain about an 18 minute per mile pace to finish within that cutoff. Strollers are allowed; dogs are not allowed. Packet pickup is available the day before at RunAbout Sports and on race day at Margaret Beeks Elementary School. Awards include overall top three male and female, masters and grand masters, and top three in each age group; overall awards are based on gun time. Registration fees vary by date and event.
