The Frosty 5K is the 23rd annual running of that race and is the 10th and final race in the 2025 RunAbout Race Series. Net proceeds will be donated to a charity chosen by participants. The Frosty 5K fee varies by registration date and includes a long-sleeve shirt for registrations on or before November 24; later registration fees are listed and race day registration is higher. The Jingle Bell Mile is free; mile participants may purchase a shirt while supplies last. Every 5K participant who registers by December 10 is guaranteed a long-sleeve shirt; later registrants may select from remaining sizes.
Course, logistics and awards
The start and finish are located behind the Food Lion grocery store on North Main Street, with parking at the nearby shopping center and a short walk to the soccer field beside Hunter Ridge Apartments. Packet pickup is available at RunAbout Sports on December 23 and at the race on race day. The Frosty 5K is a rolling course on bike paths and roads in the Shenandoah neighborhood, finishing with a short grass loop on even terrain; there is an aid station just past two miles. The Jingle Bell Mile is an out-and-back on the same grass loop and bike paths. Frosty 5K awards include overall top three male and female and top three male and female in each age group from 12 and under up to 70+. Volunteer shifts are two hours or less.
