Event overview
The Hitchin Triathlon takes place in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. The event is scheduled for 6 July 2026 and is a timed race. Participants receive an entry number, a timing chip and a medal. The swim is held in an outdoor Olympic-sized pool, the bike course goes into the local countryside, and the run takes place around the local park and town centre.
Distances
- Sprint: 400 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
- Nitro: 200 m swim, 12 km bike, 2.5 km run
- Kids Atom: 0.2 km swim, 2 km bike, 1 km run (ages 7-14)
- Kids Nano: 0.1 km swim, 2 km bike, 1.5 km run (ages 7-10)
Registration, rules and prizes
A general minimum race entry age of 11 years on race day is stated. Registration and transition procedures are managed poolside. Adults must be body-marked and no music players are permitted. The course is not traffic free; marshals will be on road crossings and participants must follow marshal instructions. Scorers and video recording will monitor lap completion. The organiser may postpone the race for extreme weather. Entries are non-transferable and non-refundable. Entry fees listed are: Sprint £65, Nitro £65, Atom £35, Nano £35. Prizes are awarded to first, second and third place in male and female categories. All runners receive a medal and a free t-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
