Hitchin Triathlon 2027
Hitchin Triathlon is a multi-distance triathlon based at Hitchin Outdoor Pool and Butts Close, Fishponds Road, Hitchin. The event offers five separate race distances for children and adults, with pool-based swim sections, a closed-road bike loop into surrounding villages and a flat run finish into Butts Close. The Olympic distance now includes an 800 metre pool-based Aussie style entry and exit.
- The Olympic - 800m swim · 40km bike · 10km run - Ages 16+
- The Sprint - 400m swim · 20km bike · 5km run - Ages 16+
- The Nitro - 200m swim · 12km bike · 2.5km run - Ages 13+
- The Atom - 200m swim · 2km bike · 1.5km run - Ages Children 11–14
- The Nano - 100m swim · 2km bike · 1.5km run - Ages Children 7–10
The course uses an open-water-style pool swim, a closed and marshalled bike loop, and a flat run with mile markers. The Olympic cycle is two laps and the run is four laps.
Entry fees range from £39 to £89. Online entries close one week before the event. Entry includes a timing chip, event t-shirt and a finisher's medal. Bikes may be racked on race day and secure overnight racking is available the night before. Body marking is required for all adults.
British Triathlon rules apply to the Sprint and Nitro distances. Helmets must be worn and fastened while on the bike, drafting is not allowed on the Sprint course, headphones are prohibited, and the public is not permitted inside transition. Trophies and age-category prizes are awarded for adult races; all finishers receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
