Hitchin Town Centre 5K - 27 September 2026
The Hitchin Town Centre 5K is a town-centre road race organised by Burnt Hare Events on 27 September 2026. The event uses wave starts allocated by expected finish time, with separate waves for sub 25-minute and 25-plus minute runners.
Included elements for 2026 (subject to change) comprise a race bib with an integrated timing chip allocated at the registration desk, electronic timing with online live results, a downloadable finisher certificate, and a race medal. The event village will feature food and drink stalls and there will be an awards ceremony. A baggage drop will be available and high-quality T-shirts will be offered for purchase while stocks last.
Support and safety provisions include drink stations on course and at the finish, medical cover at the start, on course and at the finish, signposted mile markers, enthusiastic marshals, and toilets at Race HQ.
Registration is online only, available via web browser or mobile device; the registration platform is available from 1 January 2025 and until 9:00 AM on the morning of the event. Refunds and deferrals are not normally offered because the event is a charity fundraiser and surplus is shared with nominated charities. A transfer policy allows runners to transfer their place to another runner prior to the race, and pregnancy or postpartum cases may defer to one of the following three years or be offered a full refund.
