Event
The Hitchin Town Centre 5K takes place on 27 September 2026 in Hitchin town centre. The 2026 edition is the event's 10th anniversary. The organiser is Burnt Hare Events.
Included services and course features
The event includes a race bib with an integrated timing chip allocated at the registration desk, electronic timing with online live results, and a downloadable finisher certificate. There will be an event village with food and drink stalls, baggage drop, medals, and T-shirts available to purchase while stocks last. Drink stations are provided on course and at the finish. Medical provision is in place at the start, on course and at the finish. The course is signposted with mile markers and supported by marshals. Toilets are available at Race HQ. An awards ceremony will follow the race.
Registration and entry
Registration is online only and remains open until the morning of the event. The organiser does not offer general refunds or deferrals; transfers of entries to another runner are permitted prior to the race and must be notified to the organiser. If a participant is unable to run because of pregnancy or the postpartum period, the place can be deferred to one of the following three years or a full refund offered. Entry fees vary by registration date: 13.00 GBP for late 2025 entries and 14.00 GBP for entries in 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
