About the race
Hitchin 5 is a 5 km running event in Hitchin, run as two laps of 2.5 km. The largely off-road route runs along paths with occasional road crossings, and marshals oversee crossings to keep participants safe on public highways. The race is timed with numbers, timing chips and medals awarded at the finish; results are posted live, and cash prizes are offered for the top three male and female finishers.
Registration and race number collection take place in Market Square, with nearby car parks and facilities and a friendly local atmosphere.
