Event information
The Hitchin 10K takes place on 3 May 2026 and incorporates the Herts County Senior Championships. Included for participants are a race bib with an integrated timing chip, electronic timing with online results, a race medal, an awards ceremony, downloadable finisher certificate, baggage drop, drink stations on course and at the finish, medical provision, toilets at Race HQ and an event village with food and drink stalls. High-quality T-shirts are available to purchase while stocks last.
Registration is online only and available until the morning of the event. Entry fees shown in the source are £25 for the adult 10K and £4 for the Children's Golden Mile, with an additional discount if affiliated to UK Athletics. Refunds are not offered in general; a deferral or full refund is available for entrants who are pregnant or postpartum and wish to defer to one of the following three years.

Course, safety and rules
The race starts and finishes in the town market square. The route begins with a 1 km north loop on closed roads around town, continues out to Gosmore and Charlton on a clockwise south loop, then returns to complete the initial 1 km loop and a town centre finish. Town centre roads and roads toward Charlton are closed; countryside sections are not closed. The course is classified as flat with one small climb.
Minimum age for the 10K is 15 on race day; the junior Golden Mile is for 5 to 14 year olds. Marshals and road crossing controls will operate at crossings. No music players are permitted. Prizes are awarded to the first three men and women and in age groups; all runners receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
