Course, rules and practical information

The course starts and finishes in Hitchin town centre market square. The route begins with a north loop on closed roads running anti-clockwise, continues via a clockwise south loop through Gosmore and Charlton villages, then returns to complete the initial 1 km town loop and finish in the town centre. Town centre roads and the roads to Charlton are closed; countryside roads are not closed but are described as not busy. The course is classified as flat with one small climb.

Minimum age for the 10 km is 15 on race day; the Golden Mile is for 5 to 14 year olds. Marshals will manage road crossings; participants must follow marshal instructions. Music players are not permitted. Prizes are awarded for first to third male and female positions and for age groups. All finishers receive a medal. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. There is no on-site parking; St. Mary’s car park is nearby (paid and display). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
