Hitchin 10
The Hitchin 10 is a timed 10 kilometre road race that starts and finishes in the town market square, running through a historic town-centre setting and nearby villages. The course begins with a closed-road north loop around the town, continues out to the Gosmore and Charlton villages for a clockwise south loop on largely open country roads, then returns to complete the initial 1 km town loop and a town-centre finish. The course profile is classified as flat with one small climb.
Distances:
- 10 km
- Golden mile for 5-14 years
Entry includes an entry number, timing chip and a finishers' medal. Race packs and optional event t-shirts can be collected either the day before or on the day; t-shirts are supplied only to those who ordered one at entry. There is no on-site parking at the pick-up venue; a paid car park (St. Mary’s car park) is nearby and other parking options exist locally.
Key rules and notes: minimum age for the main race is 15 years on race day; the junior golden mile is for 5-14 years. Marshals will manage road crossings because parts of the route are not traffic-free. Music players are not permitted. Entries are non-transferable and non-refundable. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and in age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
