Hitchin 10K

The Hitchin 10K is a town centre road race that incorporates the Herts County Senior Championships. The course begins and finishes in the market square and includes town centre loops plus an extended loop through nearby villages.

The route starts with a north loop on closed town roads, continues out to Gosmore and Charlton for a clockwise south loop, then returns to complete the initial 1 km town loop and the town centre finish. Town and approach roads toward Charlton are closed; country lanes beyond are not closed but are described as low traffic. The course profile is classified as flat with one small climb.

Included services and race features cover electronic timing with an integrated timing chip, live online results, a race bib, finisher medal, baggage drop, drink stations on course and at the finish, medical provision at start finish and on course, signposted mile markers and marshals, toilets at Race HQ, and an event village with food and drink stalls. High quality event shirts are available to purchase while stocks last, and a downloadable finisher certificate and awards ceremony are provided.

Age rules note a minimum age of 15 years for the 10 km and a children's Golden Mile for ages 5 to 14. Prizes are awarded for first to third male and female places and for age group categories. Entries are described as non refundable and subject to the organiser's entry rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
