Hitchin 10
The Hitchin 10 is a timed road race that incorporates the Herts County Senior Championships. It starts and finishes in the town centre market square and features a mix of closed town streets and quieter country roads through Gosmore and Charlton villages. The course includes two short town loops and a south loop through village roads; the profile is described as flat with one small climb. Town centre roads and the route to Charlton are closed to traffic, while the country sections are not closed but are reported to be quiet.

- Golden Mile junior event for 5 to 14 year olds
Entries are timed and include an entry number, timing chip and a finishers medal. Entry fees listed are £25 for adults and £4 for the Golden Mile; event t-shirts are available for £14 and affiliated athletes may receive a discount. Race packs can be collected the day before or on race day and may be collected for others only with prior permission and confirmation from the original entrant. There is no on-site parking; St Marys car park is across the road and is paid and display.
Rules note a minimum age of 15 for the main 10 km, a ban on music players, the need to follow marshals at road crossings, non-transferable non-refundable entries, and possible postponement in extreme weather. Prizes are awarded for top finishers in male and female categories and for age groups. Results are published promptly on the day and video scoring is used for discrepancies.
