Hindsight Ultra Trail Runs : Dixon, IL
Hindsight Ultra Trail Runs is an ultramarathon event held at Dixon Park District property, with the start area behind the park facility at 1605 Washington Ave. The event offers multiple loop-based distances run on the same course.
The course is an approximately 7.85-mile loop composed of about 50% singletrack, 30% grassy meadow path, and 20% gravel path. There are no water crossings or mountain sections. Total elevation for the 100 mile distance is roughly 6200 feet, which averages just under 60 feet per mile. Runners should expect roots, small stumps, rocks, and other typical singletrack obstacles.
Distances offered:
- 100 Miler
- 100k
- 50k
- 25k
- 8 Mile (one loop)
There are two aid stations: the Start/Finish (S/F) and a water station at about mile 3.7. The S/F aid station supplies water, snacks, and hot food options overnight, plus shared items from volunteers and runners. The water station provides water and ice only and is about a one-third mile walk from S/F. Crew is allowed at both locations. Pacers may join after the first lap and may join or leave runners at S/F and the aid station. Personal canopies are permitted on a first-come, first-served basis; camping is not allowed.
Awards include medals for 25k, 50k, and 100k finishers, a buckle for 100 mile finishers, and top three male and female awards for each distance; eligibility for top awards requires starting at the designated start time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
