Pinetum Mind Games Endurance Event
The Pinetum Mind Games is a timed loop endurance event held at the Pinetum (the pine tree upper loop) in Lowell Park, Dixon, IL. Participants run a paved loop of about 0.411 mile repeatedly within a chosen time limit. The event offers individual and three-person relay entries and runs over multiple time options.
The event is self supported. The center of the loop is available for tents and personal aid stations for the duration of a participant's time. Organizers will provide water, but participants are responsible for other food and fluids. Loop counting is done by the participant on a provided timing sheet; GPS watches are not accepted for distance tracking. Volunteers will be on site and organizers will share loop-tracking suggestions on their Facebook page.
The park remains open during the event and the loop will be closed to traffic for participants. Gates close for park entry at dusk. The organizers plan additional on-course competitions and raffles to be detailed later. Registration closes on Wed, Jul 1. A 100 percent deferral policy allows carrying registration to the next year if requested up to two months before the event. Pregnancy accommodations can be arranged by contacting the race directors. Pets are not permitted and participants are asked to keep noise low near neighbors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
