Pinetum Mind Games Endurance Event
The event is an endurance running event held at the Pinetum (the pine tree upper loop) in Lowell Park, Dixon, IL. Participants repeat a .411 mile paved loop over fixed time periods. Options available include these durations:
- 24-hour
- 12-hour
- 6-hour
Runners may participate solo or as part of a three-person relay team. Participants keep track of their own loops on a provided timing sheet and must enter the timing tent to record laps; some runners record every loop while others record periodically. Organizers will have volunteers on course and will provide water, but participants are responsible for their own additional food and liquids. The center of the loop is open for tents and personal aid stations for the duration of each participant's time on site.
This event takes place on Dixon Park District property while the park remains open to the public. The gates close for entry at dusk; leaving the park after entry is possible. The organizers ask that no pets be present and request consideration for nearby residents by keeping noise levels down. There will be competitions and raffles announced later. The event offers a 100 percent deferral option up to two months before the event, and pregnancy accommodations can be arranged by contacting the race directors. Event time adjustments are allowed through Ultrasignup until one week before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
