SkunkApe 806/524/314 Trail Race : Lowell Park, Dixon, IL
SkunkApe is a looped trail event held March 27, 2027 at Lowell Park, 2114 Lowell Park Road, Dixon, IL. The event is organized by Meadows Monster and offers multiple timed distance options and a relay.
Distances and time limits:
- 33.75 miles in 8 hrs 6 mins
- 22.5 miles in 5 hrs 24 mins
- 13.5 miles in 3 hrs 14 mins
- 806 Relay teams
The course uses a 2.25 mile loop that alternates direction every lap. Surface is mainly single track in the woods with a few paved road crossings. Each lap includes about 166 feet of elevation. Lap counting is manual; volunteers record laps at the start/finish and participants must ensure laps are checked before continuing.
Aid at the start/finish is provided and described as a surprise. Water, coffee, and basic snacks are guaranteed. Previous years included grilled items, burgers, donuts, pancakes, and other foods; similar offerings are decided by the aid station crew. Participants may bring additional food to share.
Entry fees vary by event and day of registration. Only participants who finish within the time limit receive the listed gift items. Awards are given to male and female 1st through 3rd for each distance, and 1st overall for relay teams. Registration fees are non refundable and not transferable.
