SkunkApe 806/524/314 Trail Race
SkunkApe is a looped trail event held at Lowell Park, 2114 Lowell Park Road, Dixon, IL on March 27, 2027. The event is organized by Meadows Monster and offers multiple timed distance options and a relay team option. Registration closes on Thu, Mar 25 at 11:59 PM CT.
Distances and time limits:
- 33.75 miles in 8 hrs 6 mins
- 22.5 miles in 5 hrs 24 mins
- 13.5 miles in 3 hrs 14 mins
An 806 relay option is also offered.
Entry fees vary by distance and include higher day of event prices: 806 entry $50 day of $60, 524 entry $40 day of $50, 314 entry $30 day of $40, and 806 Relay $150 day of $180. Only participants who finish within the time limit receive the listed gift items: hooded sweatshirt and trucker hat for the 806, tee and trucker cap for the 524, trucker cap for the 314, and tee and trucker hat for relay teams.
Awards are given for Male and Female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each distance, with 1st overall for relay teams.
Course details: the race uses an alternating direction 2.25 mile loop each lap (forward first lap, reverse second lap, and so on). The route is single track through woods with a few paved road crossings and about 166 feet of elevation per lap. Laps are recorded manually at the start/finish and volunteers must verify each lap before a participant continues.
The aid station at the start/finish provides water, coffee, and essential snacks, with additional foods offered as determined by the aid station crew. Participants may bring items to contribute.
