Skunk Ape 806/524/314 Trail Race
The event takes place on March 27, 2027 at Lowell Park, 2114 Lowell Park Road, Dixon, IL, and is organized by Meadows Monster. Multiple timed distance options and a team relay are offered.
Distances and time limits:
- 33.75 miles (8 hours 6 minutes time limit)
- 22.5 miles (5 hours 24 minutes time limit)
- 13.5 miles (3 hours 14 minutes time limit)
- 806 Relay (team option for the 806 distance)
The course uses a repeating 2.25 mile loop with direction alternating each lap (forward first lap, reverse second lap, and so on). The loop is primarily single track through woods with a few paved road crossings and about 166 feet of elevation per lap. Lap counting is done manually at the start/finish; participants must ensure a volunteer records each completed lap before continuing.
An aid station at the start/finish will provide water, coffee, and basic snacks. Past offerings included grilled items, breakfast foods, baked goods, and similar items; the crew decides specifics on the day. Participants may bring additional items to share.
Only participants who finish within the time limits receive the listed gift items. Finish gifts:
- 806: hooded sweatshirt and trucker hat
- 524: tee and trucker cap
- 314: trucker cap
- Relay teams: tee and trucker hat
Awards are given for Male and Female 1st through 3rd in the 314, 524, and 806 distances. Relay teams have a 1st overall award.
