The Chupacabra Trail Races are night trail races held in Dixon, Illinois, at 1312 Washington Avenue on August 8, 2026. The event uses a looped trail of approximately five miles; race distances are determined by the number of laps required.

The course surface combines grass, gravel, and dirt. About 30 percent is single track, with the remainder on trail sections at least 15 feet wide. The event is described as occurring after dark and notes the presence of local wildlife such as deer, turkeys, bats, skunks, and coyotes.

Registration fees are listed as $35 in advance and $40 on the day for individuals; relay teams are $105 in advance and $120 on the day. All participants receive a race tee. Day of adjustments to the number of laps are allowed and verified at check in for timing purposes. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in each solo distance and to the top relay team overall.

The refund policy states that registration fees are not refundable, not transferable to other participants, and not transferable to a future year. Registration closes August 6 at 11:59 PM CT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
