High Bridge Challenge
The High Bridge Challenge is a cumulative event held at High Bridge Trail State Park on June 20, 2026. The Challenge combines results from two separate races, Night Train and Freight Train, so each competitor registers for those races individually and follows the start times and procedures of those events.
Distance options offered for the Challenge include:
- 150k
- 100k
- 42k
- 26k
The Challenge defines combined distances in specific ways: the 100k option is the sum of a 50k at Night Train and a 50k at Freight Train, the 150k option pairs a 50k at Night Train with a 100k at Freight Train, and the Marathon option pairs the half marathon distance from each race into a full marathon. Completion of both selected distances in the same calendar year qualifies a runner as a Challenge finisher.
The Challenge registration fee is $15. Ten dollars of that fee is directed to the High Bridge Trail Friends Group to support trail maintenance. Freight Train checkout accepts a code named Challenge for a 15 percent discount; a separate code named Thanks provides discounts for qualifying professionals across events. Every Challenge finisher receives a unique historic prize; runners who complete only one of the paired distances are not eligible for that prize. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
