Hibernal Hills 50 Mile : event overview
The Hibernal Hills event is a season-opening, single-loop trail event starting and finishing at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, Horndean, Hampshire. Distances offered include:

- 20 miles
The route is mostly trail with some longer hills and an overall ascent and descent of about 6,400 ft. The first 50 km follows the Staunton and Monarchs Ways before rising onto the South Downs Way toward the finish at Queen Elizabeth Country Park. Terrain is listed as 99% trail, 1% road, and there are 7 aid stations along the course. The 50 mile and 50 km races form part of the South Downs Triple Crown.
Entry, qualifications and services
The minimum age to enter is 20 years. A qualifier is required: entrants must have completed at least a trail marathon within that race’s cutoff time in the past four years; a trail 50 km is recommended. Entries are first come, first served with no waitlist and will close one week before the race or when limits are reached. Entry fees are stated as £105, with an early bird price of £100; the price includes a mandatory GPS tracker.
The event holds a permit through ARC (permit number pending) and is a UTMB Index race worth 3 ITRA points. Services listed include fully signed and waymarked routes, a bespoke finisher medal, live GPS tracking and chip timing, event insurance, and first aid and medical cover.
