Event overview

The Hibernal Hills 50 Mile is scheduled for Saturday 7th February 2026. The race is a single-loop route that starts and finishes at Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Horndean, Hampshire. The course is mainly trail with undulating terrain and some longer hills, and it includes about 6400 ft of ascent and descent. The first 50 km follows the Staunton and Monarchs Ways before joining the South Downs Way back to the finish.

Entry and race details

The minimum age is 20 years. A qualifier is required: completion of at least a marathon within that race’s cutoff time in the last four years; a trail marathon is preferred but not compulsory. The event has seven aid stations, live GPS tracking, chip timing, and a mandatory GPS tracker included in the entry fee. The race is a UTMB Index event worth 3 ITRA points and operates under a permit granted through the ARC (permit number pending).

Entry fee is £105.00 (early bird £100.00) and instalment payments are available. Refunds are 50% up to 6 November 2025; after that date refunds are not given except for pregnancy if notified before the race.
