Heroes on the Run - Bend

Heroes on the Run is a community running event held on June 14, 2026 in Bend, Oregon, in the Old Mill District at 450 Powerhouse Dr. The event is presented by Subaru of Bend and is part of a full-day Heroes and Hounds celebration that includes dog-focused activities and vendor offerings.

Both the 5K and 10K are professionally timed and run along the Deschutes River on a mix of pavement and compacted gravel with minimal elevation gain. The 5K course is stroller-friendly throughout. The 10K continues south of the Bill Healy Bridge onto a narrower, more natural stretch of trail. Leashed, friendly dogs are welcome to participate.
Registration opened February 21, 2026. Listed registration fees are $60 for the 10K, $50 for the 5K, and $15 for the Kids Mini Run. Registered participants receive a custom finisher medal and a complimentary beer for those 21 and older. Race shirts and PAWticipant bandanas are offered as optional add-ons.
The Kids Mini Run includes a Street Dog Hero cape and mask plus a finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three men’s and women’s finishers in adult and youth divisions, with winners selecting prizes from a shared prize table.
The wider event program features a frisbee show, dog agility and sprint competitions, adoptable dogs on site, food and beverage options, local vendors, and a kids zone with inflatables and face painting.
