Speak Up Pink Duck 5K - Run/Walk for their Freedom
The Speak Up Pink Duck event offers a community 5K in two formats: an in-person run and walk in Bend, Oregon, and a virtual 5K completed anywhere during the event window. The in-person gathering is based at the Athletic Club of Bend, 61615 Athletic Club Drive, Bend, OR 97702, and the virtual window runs from June 7 to June 14.
Registration details are provided for both formats. The standard registration fee is $30 and includes an official race t-shirt. Registrants who register by May 17 are guaranteed their preferred t-shirt size; registrations after May 17 will still receive a shirt but size and race-day availability may be limited and shirts for later registrants will be shipped after June 14. A commemorative Pink Duck finisher medal is available as an optional $20 add-on. Children ages 0 to 15 register free; that category does not include a race t-shirt or finisher medal.
The event supports In Our Backyard, a nonprofit focused on preventing human trafficking and providing services for victims. Team competitions are offered with awards for largest team, most spirited team, and fastest team. The Pink Duck Challenge gives in-person participants a physical pink rubber duck and a prevention tip to share; virtual participants receive the same tip digitally. Race amenities include a pink duck keepsake, a race bib, water, and post-race snacks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
