Henry Ford Race to Health
The Henry Ford Race to Health is an annual community event held at Cascades Park in Jackson, Michigan. The 2026 edition marks the 42nd year of this gathering, which supports Henry Ford Health community wellness programs. The event features a variety of participation options for different ages and interests, including timed competitive races and non-competitive fun events.
Participants can choose from the following distances and categories:
- 5K Run: A 3.1 mile timed running event.
- 5K Walk: A 3.1 mile walking event.
- Relay Team: A 2 mile non-timed fun event for teams of four.
- Kids Fun Run: A short distance event for participants aged 3 to 12.
The 5K Run and 5K Walk are professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation, with results sent via text immediately after participants cross the finish line. All individuals completing the 5K events receive a finisher medal. Competitive awards are provided for the top overall winners, masters winners, and the top three finishers in each age group.
The Relay Team event takes place around the baseball field, where each of the four team members runs a 1/2 mile segment. This specific event is un-timed and does nor offer competitive awards. The Kids Fun Run allows parents to accompany their children as needed; child participants receive a specific themed t-shirt and a finisher medal.
Registered participants receive a t-shirt if they sign up by the designated August deadline. Packet pickup is available both the evening before the event and on the morning of the races at Cascades Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
