Hemel Hempstead 10k & 5k : Riverside, Hemel Hempstead, 17 May 2026
The Hemel Hempstead 10K and 5K take place on 17 May 2026 with both races starting and finishing at the Riverside Shopping Centre. The event is a fully road-closed, chip timed road race that forms a loop through the town centre and nearby parkland. DENS is the 2026 Charity of the Year; the charity supports people in Dacorum who face homelessness, poverty and social exclusion.
The course follows an undulating route through pedestrianised areas and the High Street. The 5 km route returns down Marlowes, while the 10 km heads via Old Town and through Gadebridge Park before rejoining Marlowes. Each kilometre is marked with distance flags and marshals are stationed throughout the course to guide and encourage runners.
Included with entries are a unique themed medal, chip timed results, free race photos and post-race goodies. An event village will offer food and drink options and partner freebies. Event t-shirts are available at a discounted price when purchased during entry checkout through the event partner RT Kit.
A free RunThrough Foundation 5K is offered via a ballot to increase accessibility. The ballot closes at 23:59 on 26 April 2026 and successful applicants will be notified in the week commencing 27 April 2026. A limited number of paid 5K entries are available to guarantee a place.
