Event Overview
The Helmsley Easter Sunday Multi-Terrain 10km is an annual running event held in the market town of Helmsley, North Yorkshire. Now in its 15th year, the race typically attracts over 320 participants. The course covers a distance of 10 km and consists of a single lap. The event is organized by the Helmsley Open Air Swimming Pool, with proceeds supporting the pool and the Samaritans of Northallerton and The Dales.
Course Details
The route is a multi-terrain course that incorporates a variety of surfaces, including roads, forestry tracks, footpaths, and fields. The terrain is described as undulating and hilly, providing a specific series of elevation challenges. Due to the nature of the trails and footpaths, the course is not suitable for wheelchair users. Dogs are not permitted on the race course, though they are allowed at the finish area.
Participant Information
The race has an entry limit of 500 runners. Standard headphones are not permitted during the race, though bone-conduction headphones are allowed. Participants who enter before 15th March 2026 are guaranteed a finishing memento, which has been updated to a sustainable and useful prize. On-the-day entries are subject to an additional surcharge and are only available if the race limit has not been reached.
Facilities and Logistics
Race headquarters are located at the Helmsley Open Air Swimming Pool on Baxtons Sprunt. The venue provides the following:
